YOUTH SERVICE programs for students and youth can change the lives of those who participate. Through these programs, young people can earn scholarships, travel on cultural exchanges, or help a community through a service project.

The Salinas Rotary Club sponsors programs at Salinas High School including Student of the Month awards, 5th Quarters, and Sober Grad night. We sponsor Mt. Toro Student of the Month and recognition BBQ’s. The Club funds four $1,000 Rotary scholarships each year to two deserving Seniors at each Salinas High School and Mt Toro. The Club sponsors both inbound and outbound Rotary Youth Exchange students through Rotary International allowing them to spend a school year experiencing another country’s culture.

The INTERACT club at Salinas High School has as its purpose: to encourage service among youth, foster their active interest in the community and offer opportunities for high school aged students to develop as leaders.

Interact is a vehicle by which Rotary empowers teens to serve locally and internationally with their Rotary club sponsors. Thousands of communities around the world have benefited from the service of Interact clubs. Interact students have discovered a program that offers fun, meaningful service activities while providing a chance to develop leadership skills and meet new friends. In turn, sponsor Rotary clubs have gained increased support for projects and fresh ideas for service while helping to develop future Rotarians.
