Community Service
Rotary is a service organization where Service Above Self is our motto. Community Service provides opportunities for Rotarians and their families to engage in the community in a meaningful way. Service opportunities vary year to year, all however are designed to provide options for Rotarians to give back in a way they may not otherwise have the chance to. If you or your organization have a service opportunity you would like to offer to our club please contact our club at salinasrotary@redshift.com.
Immunization Day: On November 23rd Rotarians show their thanks to the community by hosting an Immunization Day with grant funds from the district and supplemented by Rotarian donations. An annual event serving the Salinas community. Volunteers are needed to assist.
Dress for Success: On November 29th join fellow Rotarians in supporting Sun Street Centers by cleaning out your gently used professional attire. The clothing collected will be cleaned and provided to participants of Sun Street programming as they re-engage in their community.
Salvation Army Kettle Campaign: The Rotary Club of Salinas has been ringing the bell for many years to raise funds for local families in need. This year, we will be manning the kettle December 6th through 9th.
Spring Gleaning: Plans are in the works to partner with Ag Against Hunger to glean area fields and donate the product to the local food banks. Check back for more specific information on this project.
You can see Rotarians enjoying giving back to the community at a few past service events:
