Salinas High Interact Club
The Interact club at Salinas High School has as its purpose: to encourage service among youth, foster their active interest in the community and offer opportunities for high school aged students to develop as leaders.
Interact is a vehicle by which Rotary empowers teens to serve locally and internationally with their Rotary club sponsors. Thousands of communities around the world have benefited from the service of Interact clubs. Interact students have discovered a program that offers fun, meaningful service activities while providing a chance to develop leadership skills and meet new friends. In turn, sponsor Rotary clubs have gained increased support for projects and fresh ideas for service while helping to develop future Rotarians.
Service Projects
Interact clubs must carry out two service projects each year: one that helps the school or community and one that promotes international understanding. These projects are a great way for Interact clubs to get involved in the community, connect with youth around the world, and attract new members.
Projects of the Salinas High School Interact club include:
- Holiday gift collection/distribution
- Volunteer service at Dorothy’s Kitchen
- 5th Quarter party at Salinas High School (in conjunction the Rotary Club of Salinas)
- International service trip to Lima, Peru
